Meet the dedicated individuals behind Salikeen Seminary, committed to providing authentic Islamic education and nurturing the next generation of Muslims.
Sh. Shavkat Sayed is an alumnus of Al-Azhar University, where he earned his degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies, complemented by traditional certifications (ijazah) in Quranic recitation (Hafs 'an 'Asim) under Dr. Mustafa Khattab with whom he contributed to the Clear Quran translation project. Additionally, he is credentialed in Hanbali jurisprudence (Fiqh), theology (Aqidah), Islamic legal theory (Usul), and Hadith studies through acquiring ijazahs from distinguished scholars.
For over 15 years, Shaykh Shavkat has been a pillar of community leadership in Ontario's Niagara region. He works professionally as a computer programmer analyst and is also an accredited licensed gas technician and entrepreneur.
A talib ul-'ilm, Omer is a soft-spoken technology leader with nearly a decade of experience across education and healthcare in Canada, and a longstanding involvement with Islamic institutions on the technology and administrative side. He is committed to bringing a level of professionalism to Islamic education that meets the expectations of Western Muslim students, building upon proven academic methods to help students achieve their goals within an authentic scholarly environment.

All courses are delivered online via live Zoom sessions, with recordings available for review.
No prior Islamic education is required for 100-level courses. We start from the fundamentals and build sequentially. 200- and 300-level courses assume completion of prerequisites.
Most courses run 14 weeks (one term). Some are organized as two consecutive blocks of 7 weeks.
